------------------------------------------------------------------------ LaTeX Install Kit "InftyTeXinst.exe", Ver.3.0 (Free software) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ << Contents of TeX Install Kit >> The TeX Install Kit contains the following software: - TeX 3.1415926 (TeX Live 2011/W32TeX) - e-pTeX 3.1415926-p3.2 - pLaTeX2e <2006/11/10>+0 (based on LaTeX2e <2011/06/27> patch level 0) - pdfTeX 1.40.12 - dvips(k) 5.991 - dvipdfmx 20110311 - dviout 3.18.3a6 - GPL Ghostscript 9.04 - BaKoMa TrueType Fonts * These are the newest versions as of December 23, 2011. The following folders will be installed: - c:\w32tex\bin (TeX binaries) - c:\w32tex\share (TeX-related files) - c:\w32tex\dviout (dviout) - c:\w32tex\gs (Ghostscript) << Preparations before installing TeX Install Kit >> If you have a version of TeX already installed, please uninstall it. (How to uninstall) If you have an uninstall program on your PC, please use it. Otherwise, please uninstall by the following procedure. *Uninstall old TeX* - If there is "c:\ptex\bin" in the PATH environment variable, delete it. - If there are "TEXMF", "TEXMFMAIN" and "TEXMFCNF" environment variables, delete them. - Delete the folder containing your existing TeX installation (for example,"latex.exe"). *Uninstall old dviout* - After dviout is started, select "Uninstall" from the "Option" menu. - After dviout is finished, delete "dviout.exe", "dviout.hlp(dvioute.hlp)" and "dviout.cnt(dvioute.cnt)". - If there are "dviout.par", "dviout.vfn" and "install.par", delete them. *Uninstall old Ghostscript and GSview* - If there are paths to folders for Ghostscript in environment variables, delete them. - If there is an environment variable called "GSLIB", delete it. - Delete Ghostscript, GSview and Ghostscript Fonts, under "addition and deletion of application" (or "addition and deletion of program"), in "control panel". - Delete folders "c:\gs"(or "c:\Aladdin") and "c:\Program Files\Ghostgum". *Check "AUTOEXEC.BAT"(Windows NT/2000/XP/Vista) - Open "c:\autoexec.bat" in Notepad. - If "TEXMF", "TEXMFMAIN", "TEXMFCNF" and "GSLIB" are set in it, delete them. - If there is "c:\ptex\bin" in the PATH environment variable, remove it. << Install >> If your OS is Windows 2000/XP/Vista/7, please logon as Administrator. 1. Double click "InftyTeXinst.exe". If you select [Yes] in the dialog box "Do you want to install TeX(W32Tex)?", temporary files are extracted in "c:\temp". 2. After the dialog box appears automatically, click the [OK]. Installing starts. 3. The installer of TeX system starts. Install it by following the instructions given on the display. 4. After TeX system is installed, the installer of BaKoMa fonts starts. Install it by following the instructions given on the display. 5. The dialog box for setting the environment variable "PATH" appears. If you use Windows 2000/XP/Vista/7, click [Yes]. The following paths will be set in the variable "PATH": c:\w32tex\bin;c:\w32tex\dviout;c:\w32tex\gs\gs9.04\bin;c:\w32tex\gs\gs9.04\lib If you use Windows95/98/Me, click [No] and set the above paths manually. 6. Restart Windows. << Additional installs (options) >> You may wish to install the following optional software. *Adobe Reader* - It displays and prints PDF files. (To install) Download the file from the following URL: http://get.adobe.com/reader/ Double click its icon to start its installer. *GSview 5.0* - It displays and prints PostScript files. (To install) Download gsv50w32.exe from the following URL: http://mirror.cs.wisc.edu/pub/mirrors/ghost/ghostgum/ Doule click "gsv50w32.exe" to start its installer. If you use Japanese language, after starting GSview, add "-dWINKANJI" in [Ghostscript Options:] of the dialog box that appears when you select [Options] -> [Advanced Configure...]. << Uninstall of this TeX environment >> Uninstallation of TeX is performed manually. Before following these instructions, please confirm that they do not affect other applications you wish to keep. - After starting dviout, select [Uninstall] in Option of menu. - Delete "Bakoma Fonts" by using "addition and deletion of application"(or "addition and deletion of program") in "control panel". - Delete "TeX system" by using "addition and deletion of application"(or "addition and deletion of program") in "control panel". - Delete the entries c:\w32tex\bin;c:\w32tex\dviout;c:\w32tex\gs\gs9.04\bin;c:\w32tex\gs\gs9.04\lib from the environment variable PATH. << Comments to InftyEditor Users >> To the users of InftyEditor(http://www.inftyproject.org/en/software.html): 1. "InftyTeXinst.exe" includes all the necessary softwares to use LaTeX functions in InftyEditor. 2. In case you do not make use of LaTeX related functions in InftyEditor, it is not necessary to install this package.
